IMO its too played out. 9 out of 10 tacos where i live rock the trd bro grille. It would be much better looking if i didnt see it on every corner. No way im ever putting that grille on mine, i just painted the bezel and happy how it looks so far.

I really think 2020 SR grille is the best looking 3rd gen grille.

Agreed, every taco I see running around here and when I was in AZ had a Pro Grille even one's that were completely stock or SR models, Toyota should have done a better job either with VIN exclusivity or preventing the knock offs and maintaining a high price point imho.

I did the pro grill about a year and a half ago. I only saw maybe 2 or 3 until about 3 months ago now it is all I see. Agree with the SR grill looking the best

I bought a 2020 SR grille on e-bay for my 2019 OR but it has the chrome bezel. How did you paint yours (Plastidip or primer/paint/clear coat) and how is it holding up?

I agree that the pro grill is played out. I just got the black SR grill bezel for mine and couldn't be happier with how the truck looks.

I do like the new 2020 OR/Sport grill.

Im a cheap ass, so i derped it. I did it over a year ago and it looks great still. I always had good results with plasti dip. I did my TRD center caps too.

So many guys say its garbage, because im pretty sure they dont apply it right.

The best thing to do is, when you do first coat, make it super thin. Then apply 8-9 thin coats on top. If you apply it too thick it will look like shit and wont bond properly. Of course gotta make sure the surface is super clean.

I dipped my previous trucks' bumpers and grille, looked great for years. Good luck man!

Thanks man. Frankly I don't care too much if it picks up some chips. May give it a go. Worst case scenario I will just go back to the chrome bezel.

No problem man. Thats the beauty of plastidip, you can always remove it if you apply it properly. Also, can touch up anytime if you get some chips.

I went the 2020 SR grill for my 2019 sport. It works with the safety stuff and I got the grill for cheap. The SR came with a black bezel.

Did a few mods to my 2020 grill. I like it better now and will NOT be doing the Pro type grill.IMG_2179.jpg

Yeah, plus I think the design people nailed it this time around. The pro grille still has that odd sensor garnish bit.

    None, yet
To me the pro grill just looks tougher and sets it apart from the billion other Toyotas on the road. That's the appeal to me anyways, not so much what other Tacomas are doing. And I like that it's an affordable mod for anyone to do. Don't get why anyone would want mods to be harder to obtain for fellow enthusiasts.

I fell you, I find it funny how people think the Pro grille is “played out” or what “the cool kids do”... lol its all just preference. I see a large number of Tacomas daily with all different grilles, besides the custom grilles the Pro grille is the one I see the least amount of. To each their own. I love my pro grille, It was actually the first thing I changed on my 2018 TRD OR. I have yet to see one that looks better for these trucks IMO.
