Question for the hive. How thick is the side of the bed? Closing in on mounting Swing Case on the driver’s side of my 2020.

    What measurement are you seeking?

Width of wheel well to the bed? Height of the bed?

Do you own a tape measure? Specifics, hombre.

Ah the thickness of the metal.

Took a caliper to a Tundra a few years back and remember getting low 20 ga. Maybe 20-24?

I'm looking for the thickness of the composite bed material.

If you want to know... pull the a tail light and you can see both bed side and composite bed thickness, but maybe 1/4 of a inch.

    0.02” - 0.033” (a guess, didn’t measure, don’t have a 2020 3rd Gen or a caliper handy).

Trying to avoid that if I can. I'm selecting fasteners and have several options. Whatever style it will be marine grade stainless.

I wouldn't mount any thing of substantial weight to the bed side unless you distribute the load over a large area. Even then, its likely to crack.

I assume the swing case comes with hardware, probably just get the same length they provide in marine grade stainless.

The swing case uses the existing cubby hardware. And since there is no cubby on the drivers side I'm going to have to come up with the hardware. Most retailers say it can't be used on the 2020, I'm hard headed enough to do it anyway.

The bed will have a backing plate of sufficient size to distribute the weight.

You’ve got a fair bit of room between the bed and bedside so unless you go like 2 to 4 inches too long you should be alright. Also if you open your tailgate I think you could get a measurement of the bed thickness.
