will exhaust system for later year tacoma fit earlier year?

I'm trying to upgrade my exhaust system to a Magnaflow for my 1998 2.7L 4-cyl but there's nothing out there for my year tacoma. I've seen, while researching online, that Gibson has an exhaust system that is for a 1998-2000. So, my question is, can I mount a magnaflow exhaust system for a year 2000 onto my 1998?

It'll fit just fine. All that matters is the pipe diameter. Whisch stock is 2.25 - 2.5 "


:Edit: But a muffler shop can make anything fit...you'll be fine

 

The thing you have to be aware of is that around 2000 or so Toyota started using dual inline cats on the Cali emission trucks. If yours is a single cat and the system you are trying to install is a single cat system it will bolt up. Same goes for the dual cat systems.
