    Is anyone familiar with how to make the anytime camera kit work with a Spod on a 2016 tacoma

    Pretty sure you could just follow one of the guides with the mod kit and use the spod switches instead of a standard. Do you have a front camera too?

    I believe SPOT sends power to each output, so you’ll have to use a 12V SPDT relay. Wire SPOD outlet to one side of the relay coil AND the N/O pole of the relay (other side of relay coil to ground). Then Cut the reverse signal wire to the headunit, run the cut wire from headunit to the common of the relay, and the wiring harness side of the cut wire to the N/C side of relay.

    Does that impede normal operation of reverse camera when in reverse?

    no. The Reverse signal wire is connected to the NC and Common wires of the relay. So all functions as normal when there is no power to the relay. When you power the relay, it puts a separate +12v signal to the headunit making it think you’re in reverse, but also cuts the wire to the reverse lights so you don’t backpower them. (And This way you also don’t need a diode like some use)
