Had an issue (2007 tacoma prerunner 4cyl. 5 speed)with a rattle in the trans. when the truck was in neutral and the A/C compressor kicked on. The thing sounded like a diesel engine. Took 4 1/2 months for the Toyota Rep to get in the area. He decided to have the clutch, pressure plate, release bearing, clutch cylinder and a few other things replaced. It took the dealer 4 days to complete. Finally get my truck back on Mon. about 11:00 and at 2:00 I had to call for the wrecker because the Ahole mechanic didn't tighten the bolts to the center joint where the 2 drive shafts come together, so the drive shaft came out. Back at the dealership the same mechanic can't get the drive shaft to go all the way back in and goes gets a big ass hammer and starts driving it in. I told him stop. He says its OK. I ask about the rear trans seal and he says it looks good. Needless to say it is leaking like crazy. I went back yesterday and demanded a NEW transmission and drive shaft. They have one on the way hopefully it will be here Mon.

holy crap! Sorry to hear it man. Mine does the same rough idle thing when I'm idling out of gear with the A/C on. Haven't had the stealership look into it yet though.

Still under warrantee I would assume?

I'd be pissed if that were me....

If these guys can't fix your truck properly, I'd start thinking about taking it to another dealer and/or start making phone calls and complain about their shoddy workmanship.

    Fricken stupid mechanics!

Pissed doesn't even begin to describe it. I had just picked up my daughter from school to take her to a dentist appointment. We had just gotten off the highway running 65 mph. I chewed the general managers ass like no tomorrow. When they put the tranny in it better be right.
