    Anyone else deal with this dilemma? I’m buying a Tacoma this weekend and I want to dump a bunch of money into it that I will never get back. Because it’s the right thing to do.

    Girlfriend wants a ring.

    We’ve been together for 8 years and the pressure is on :annoyed:.

    What’s an acceptable ring to car parts ratio that has worked for you guys. 1:1, 2:1, 1:3 etc. for example, 1:1 spend 1$ on a ring, spend 1$ on car parts.

    All things considered, I am lucky. The Tacoma will be my 6th vehicle in 8 years and she hasn’t killed me yet! :ballchain:

    Is the Truck better looking then the GF If the answer is yes buy new goodies for the truck and get a ring from the Pawn Shop if the GF is better looking then the truck buy a used Ridgeline to show her your are love her .

    I got a better idea

    Dump a bunch of money into your first gen that costs significantly less than a new toyota.

    Buy a commuter or daily vehicle that is reasonable

    The money saved goes to the ring

    Then when you get bored again because you go through cars but not girlfriends you can sell your normal car and still be ahead

    I cannot stand women who show off their big ass rings. Like they want everyone to think their husband loves them more because that fucking rock on their finger.

    DON'T BUY A NEW TRUCK DICKHEAD!

    1. 6 vehicles in 8 years. You need therapy, or to be forever single. First come to terms with that.
    2. Did she ask for a ring? Did she demand a ring? What is her maintenance level 1 to 10, please provide data.
    3. Most importantly, is that first gen a 5-speed TRD. If it is, NEVER EVER EVER GET RID OF IT! I got rid of mine because I could not fit a car seat in it. I could not afford the cash or space for two trucks. I want it back. I'm going to see if I can reach the guy again and have him will it to me so my son can learn in it. I like my 2nd gen DCLB 4x now even though it has an AT, but it isn't a joy to drive like a first gen 5-speed.

    Keep that goddamn truck, and go buy a used daddy wagen. Audi, BMW, Volvo, etc. Then mod that. Lower, tint, all that stupid shit. And save your ducats for more parts and work on the first gen, and keep the miles down on it.

    Because old Dirk here, he's onto it VVVVVVV
