From what i gathered from my local topper dealer, ARE doesnt make windoors themselves. They use another company that makes them and im not sure if my dealer or ARE installed them. They were $150 each.

    Stock for now.. maybe
Front removable window is pretty much a must for cleaning purposes. I was planning on saving the 150 and do headliner myself but I'm glad I didn't because it would've been a pain in the butt and they did a real good job and makes shell look great
Both are worth it in my opinion if you can afford. If your on a budget I would get removable front window before headliner
Also LEER doesnt promote it but they also sell one called a Legend which is the exact same but cheaper by 500 bucks because it doesn't have a lifetime warranty and the back window isn't a 'frameless glass' which I didn't want anyways. Your dealer will probably honor the leer coupons that are on website

Just confirmed my order for my Snugtop Rebel. Carpet headliner to match my BedRug, foldown front slider, vented windoors on both sides, Yakima tracks, USB ports, Keyless entry Pro Lock. I paid $2953 installed which I feel like was a good deal compared to what I've seen others paying. Now for the ~8 week wait.

I've got a very similar setup, on a '17 OR DCSB. However, my dealer cancelled my Leer Locker, they said it wasn't available for the XR, in the 5' bed shells. I did order it back in 2017, but have wanted one ever since. Been looking at the Cap-Pack out of Wisconsin. If you could share a pic of your leer locker, it'd be much appreciated. Thanks

Quoted $2564 shipped and installed for a Leer 100XR with carpet, drop down sliding window, side window sliders with pet screens, and roof rail tracks. Is this a fair deal? (3rd gen DCSB)
I’ve shopped around elsewhere and can’t find anything cheaper with those features. Looked at Century and ARE.

Finally found and ARE shells, it’s a forest green colour, and I scored it for 600$ CAD. No complaints.

Got this used leer 100xl for my 07 trd sport short bed today. Been hunting a shell for months and finally found one that 1.) Fit 2.) Color matched 3.) Wasn't missing anything or damaged.

    I paid $800. I thought it was a good deal. 174E6FFF-187E-4D0C-8475-99C931D76150.jpg

Looking at buying my first topper this summer and been wondering something - how do they wire in the various things that are needed such as the third brake light, overhead lights, power lock, and any other electronics, etc.?

I really hate cutting/splicing into factory wiring, so hoping they use T harnesses or something similar. Anyone installed them or looked after you got yours to see how it is done? Does it depend on manufacturer or dealer or a bit of both?

How it is done could also affect which options I end up getting.

After several months of searching and almost buying a silver ranger cap I found this locally and picked it up for 325$.
No broken glass and everything mostly works. I'll just need struts for the rear glass eventually. Plus it already matches!

Almost everyone taps into a taillight wire for the 3rd brake light and run a ~18-24 AWG wire up to the battery for the interior light.

You could rig up a tap into the trailer harness if you don't want to touch the wiring behind the tail light.

Could you buy a trailer brake wiring kit just to get the harness that goes on the taillight plug and that would allow them to use that to tap into the brake light without directly tapping the factory wiring? I think it would be the dark grey plug harness in the one I linked to.

I'm just south of you, where did you go in OR? I'd love to avoid the sales tax, as well.

I went to this dealer and had a good experience and would recommend to anyone in the area.
    https://canopycorner.com/

I built my own via the ARE website and selected this spot as the dealer. Lead time expectation of 6-weeks was pretty spot on.

Leer and Century caps are the same, made in the same factory, just different emblems. But Century is about $150 less. I got the Century ultra sport, Thule roof rack, removable slider window...(great option) carpet head liner, and side window screen protectors, $2700 installed Chicago suburb. They take the paint code off your truck and it is dead on.2020-07-06 12.29.02.jpg
