I know this thread is old but did any of you end up going with a different coilover? If so which one and how do you like it? I just picked up a supercharged 03 double cab 4x4 trd with a 6" fabtech lift and the fabtech struts are toast.20200707_172455.jpg

I'm on the phone with Bilstein right now trying to figure out what they have to offer. I'll update in a few when I find out.

Just spoke to a sales rep at Bilstein in california. He said that for the first gen taco they do not have a direct bolt on replacement option for a 6 inch lift. He suggested that I calculate the compressed and extended lengths then call them and see if they

There is or was a Hawaiian shop on there called Top Notch and I think they were pretty well versed in all that. Might look them up and ask if they have experience with Bilstien and what not

Thanks, I just messaged them. I called King directly and they gave me the part numbers. Quick google search and I found the fronts, part number 25001-651, from tufftruckparts for $1224.75 shipped. 4 Wheel parts price matches so I called them, they are going to check with their management and get back to me with the quote. He said it shoudnt be a problem. Im not sure how much I would save by going with the bilsteins and eibachs even if I can find exactly what I need, probably not much. I'll probably be going with the Kings if they will price match.

If anything it’d probably be like a couple hundred at most.

I know I'm late to the party.. But I'm having the same issue as you with a TERRIBLE ride for a 6inch fabtech lift on 04 Tacoma.

How did the king shocks replacement workout for you?

I'm looking for a direct bolt on replacement like you.

Anything you'd do differently now that it's been a few years?

    Thanks,

    C.

I am very happy with the Kings and would not do anything different with the front lift. However I installed 6" ALcan rear leaf springs (to eliminate lift blocks) and they are too stiff. This causes my ride to be a bit harsh. I am planning on removing the lower 2 leafs and regain lift with a 1" or so block. I am hoping this gives the rear a softer ride. BTW...lift block up to 2" are OK, beyond that they start to cause issues with axle wrap.

    Interesting good to know.

I have 3-inch blocks in the rear... looking at doing some progressive springs to eliminate them...

With the Fabtech front struts and blocks in the rear... the ride is terrible and stiff. (been like this for 10 years)

I have been looking at the Icons to replace the front. Expensive.. but better than teeth chattering neck-breaking suspension.

Thanks for your help and nice truck.
