Just got a trd pro about a week ago, I live in Toronto, and plan on going off roading with the truck still being stock, does anyone have any experience off roading in Ontario? If so any newbie trails that you’d recommend?

Congrats on the purchase. Just get out and explore. I use google maps to figure out potential routes. You would be wise to find a group/club if you are new to offroad - there is a lot more to it than the capability of the vehicle. If going alone - frowned on but much more realistic for many of us - then stay within your limits. I wheel alone most of the time and the single biggest thing for me is to use my brain. I pushed my limits years ago so I have a good feel for what my truck is capable of and what it is not. I stay at the lower end of my/the trucks capabilities and I'm happy there. The best skill to have is turning around in a tight spot. No shame in bailing out on something that looks too much. Also take some time to learn the basics of recovery.
For trails you will need to head out of TO towards Bancroft, Minden or Northbay. I would say your best bet would be vmuts in Mattawa. The trails are rated so you know what you are getting into. They have stock friendly routes. Check it out online. Good luck and have fun.

I haven't been, but Ganaraska Forest trails are supposed to have multiple trails at different levels. That's located north east of Bowmanville.

Use the legend, you'll see that southern Ontario is mostly private land.
I've been down power lines/gas lines, as long as their not marked private. (Some do cross private land and they're leased).
The nice thing about Canada is that if you do get onto private property (not always marked), you'll get a polite or nasty reminder, unlikely a gun pointed at you.
Please keep it clean, don't rip up ground terrain unnecessarily, and throw the Timmies cups in the truck, not the trail. Too many assholes here in Ontario that can't properly dispose of garbage.
Have fun, and don't be afraid to look some of us up, I personally would love to join a good ride, maybe show off some areas around North Bay.

Just came across your post! Lots of great trails in Ontario for stock trucks. Check out Bancroft Overland Club on Facebook. We are a new club but are starting to organize some runs in the Bancroft area. We have a run coming up on August 2 and have room for a couple more trucks.

We posted this particular event on our members page. Since we're a new club we're trying to find a balance between attracting new members and having events for existing members. If you're interested PM me and I can give you all the details.
