Back when I was an alcoholic, I would tie one on any night and be at work on time. Some days were worse than others but I was on time, lol.

My dad and I went hunting with some friends one Thanksgiving, my dad is who I watched and learned to drink from so you can imagine what happened that weekend. Well after it got dark we went coon hunting and the drinking continued between 2 guys and myself while listening to the dog. I got in bed around 4:30 that morning and dad woke me at 5:30 to go eat breakfast. I remember telling him to leave me alone I had just gone to bed

December will be 9 years sober for me, I couldn't tell you if dad still drinks or not. I rarely see him and mom.

 

It was more of saying how I feel like I'm getting old, no alcohol was involved last night
Buddies and I would get trashed at parties at least 4 times a week when I was in college and I had to be at work at 6am driving a forklift, tractor, massive loader and running all day. I never missed a day and would puke it out if needed and then push the shit into the pile. The porch wasn't my style

 

My grandfather is an alcoholic and a heavy smoker. He drinks from sun up to sun down going on multiple cruises every year rating them by how accommodating they are to smoking passengers and his alcohol consumption

We don't have a relationship either but I'm happy to see him at least blow his money on cruises because it means my evil aunt's and their devil spawn will hopefully see none of it

 

Dammit! I haven't had breakfast yet!

 

I was sort of only joking. There are many times now that I'm pushing 40 that I think back fondly to Jon telling me that.


I too feel the age creeping. Sometimes I just shake my head like "Man, that shouldnt be that hard..."

I think a hangover would literally kill me. Just dig the hole, get out of my way and let me crawl in it. I feel shitty enough with just my age weighing me down, I don't think I need help feeling worsererer. And the taste; somehow, in the past 29 years, alcohol has lost any yumminess that it once had. I think I could smoke some weed though. But I don't, work frowns on that sort of thing.
