    Hello again!

Just installed a new actuator to the front axle. I tested the actuator before I bolted it in, light came on and everything, and it worked perfectly. However, when I bolted it into the axle, then proceeded to put the truck in 4 wheel drive, but it did not engage.

I could hear the motor in the actuator move when i put the truck in 4 wheel drive, but the light would not come on and I could not feel the front wheels engaging.

Please help! I am truly at a loss right now

Did you position/clock the collar to the far right and place the fork into the collar?

Yes, it was the only way it would fit in and have the holes for the bolts line up

Just how did this start I read through your other thread I only saw it did not work ??

I am guessing it worked at one time .

You have ruled out anything in the front axle keeping it from engaging ?

Did you check the actuator you removed to see that still works ??

Yes, so I broke it down to the old actuator had gone bad because it was the only thing that wouldn’t work when I put the truck in 4x4. I took the old one off and tested it and knew it went bad. But when I put the new one on, I could hear the motor spin but no 4 wheel drive

How long have things been sitting ??

When you installed the new actuator you made sure the sliding sleeve was free. Not like your dealing with a powerful motor.

If the sleeve is stuck it is not going to move This is a cause for many failures not to engage 4x4
