P0157 Code Help

Recently installed the URD SPEC-U Exhaust on my truck, had an exhaust shop do the install. Right off the bat, dash lit up like a Christmas tree. First set of codes it gave me, it detected no sensors. Looked under my truck and they forgot to plug in the sensors and exhaust leaks at the y-pipe. Gave me a P0137 code, bank 1 sensor 2, switched over the sensors and now it’s a P0157, bank 2 sensor 2. There’s no exhaust leak, so it looks like it’s the o2 sensor. The problem is, I don’t know which side is bank 1 or bank 2...stupid I know lol! If the exhaust shop forgot to plug in the sensors and not notice an obvious leak...pretty sure these guys were careless about the sensors.!

 

B1 = Passenger Side
B2 = Driver Side

S1 = Closest to the exhaust manifold (Front)
S2 = Farthest from exhaust manifold (Rear)

I’d be sure they got the sensors in the right place.
Seeing how they are so close together on you System?

Thanks again!!! Just placed the order and hopefully it gets rid of the check engine light lol. Good news, me and an FX35 were dead even 0-70 lastnight lol! Not bad for an automatic truck on E-rated 33” tires.

 

Well it looks like the check engine light is gone but I did find a slight leak again. Fuck sakes, going to try and seal it up with Permatex Copper gasket maker.

should I remove it or do you think I’ll be ok just where the leak is, its facing me anyways. was going to put a good coats.

 

Looks like a patch job from the shop and this was after I brought it a 2nd time with new OEM gaskets.

 

I did a little searching.
I looks like there are different exhaust gaskets for each side.
They maybe the same, or they may not.
That may be the problem?

This exhaust shop doesn't sound like they're very good with exhaust work

Does URD have a part number for a gasket that they recommend?

 

Funny thing is, I went to the dealership, pulled out the diagram and they were both the same part number. I’m thinking of going to a different exhaust shop and getting it fixed if the copper gasket doesn’t work.

 

I’m not going back, if the copper gasket doesn’t work then I’m going to have to take it in.

 

It’s worth a shot. It’s easy enough to do, and doesn’t cost you anything. (Other than copper sealer)

 

Good news, just drove into work and so far so good! I’m impressed with the copper gasket/sealer.

Yeah, I’m not so sure about the all the excess sealer they used.
Someone was thinking “more is better”.

I would have at least wiped the flange off clean at the seams.
Oh well, at least you got it fixed.

 

Grinded it with a wheel brush, made sure it was a clean smooth surface.
