Theres quite a few. My moto9 is. Id go to rockymountainatvmc and just look at dirt helmets. Quite a few of the top ends ones i looked at were snell/ece/dot

I should add i stopped wearing goggles daily and bought a pair of riding sunglasses (the ones with the foam around the lense).

Im not saying dont get an adv helmet, i just think they sacrifice quite a bit in true offroad stuff.

    I’ll check it out

lol that’s not really a thing right now.

I’ll take a look around. If I can save some money not going the Xd-4 route and get something safe and comfy I’m down. I put up with an uncomfortable helmet for 14 years now (and it should have been retired long ago) so I want something I will be happy with for a while.

Lol, i think youll be happy with any newer helmet. I have two moto 9s now thats how much i like them. But i might try a klim f5 next time (just to try, wouldnt mind a tad more airflow for the woods)

So I started the disassembly on my spare carburetors for the Ninja. Holy crap are these things complicated!

It looks like whoever owned these carbs before me had already replaced some of the needles and other parts, but I’m still going to go through them and make sure everything is clean and calibrated.

I’m still riding the bike in the meantime, but the carbs are original and untouched, and I know they need to be cleaned and rebuilt because it’s very difficult to get it to idle when it’s cold, and the choke barely works at all (it either wants to stall or idle at 4,000 RPM, no happy medium).

You got this! The bottom of the bowl on the right looks downright sparkly with almost no varnish on it, so I don't think anything inside will be too crazy gummed up.

I'm a bit surprised to see your two air/fuel screws at such different heights. That might be affecting your idle some, too.

Pine sol works great as a soaking agent to help get some gunk out. Guitar strings work great to unplug all the tiny tiny jet holes. I found it helpful to cut the tip of the carb cleaner straw at an angle so I could get it into the air and fuel passages better and not spray myself in the face with carb cleaner as much. I'd also suggest wearing glasses or a face shield when spray it, it'll burn your eyes like a mofo.

Picked up yet another old nail this week. I'm beginning to think this motorcycle thing is getting out of hand...

    Thanks for the awesome tips!!

These carbs aren’t from my Ninja, I bought them as spares so I could work on them while still having a running bike. Then, next rainy day I can just swap them out as complete assemblies.

I texted my friend at the Duc/HD/BMW dealership. I was going to go today. But no Scrambler Icons available. He has a yellow one coming.

@uurx i found out why that other one was so cheap. The Scrambler 62 is the 400cc one. The Icon is 800. And then they have the new 1100.

I picked up one on the rear a couple weeks ago. At least the tire was close to being done, still pretty frustrating tho.
