This, I just glued mine on with some aircraft seal but that gave up a couple years ago. It does rattle on the A-pillar sometimes but I just figure it's another part of the band along with the squeeky springs, creaky UCAs and chirping throwout bearing.

I bought an Amazon snorkel and am worried its going to split if I don't secure it, It also started to sag a little since its made for a Prado so it likely needs to come off, get massaged with a heat gun and reinstalled which is a massive pain in the dick and balls.

That makes sense, these Aussie snorkels have like 6 studs through the fender so it is on there pretty damn secure even without the a-pillar mount. the top 2 nuts were an absolute pain in the dick to get on and tight though, I had to loosen the whole fender and wedge it out just to get the the nut on and have room for my hand and a wrench that would move it about 1/12 of a turn at a time.

I didn't even get the top 2 on the fender in there. :annoyed::bananadead:

Just gave the rest of them a good coat of Loctite. If it comes off, it's taking the whole fender with it. I couldn't get my fender to loosen up even with all the bolts removed. There was a thick bead of seamsealer it looked like that they used to glue that fender to the cab.

That’s how it was for the tacoma. Lexus went smoothly for the most part. Biggest issues I have with installing a snorkel is the templates seem to be garbage most the time.

I may have downloaded the file for a printable Austrian replica. Just not sure where I put it 2 or 3 years ago.
Overhead switch pannel is on the list, possibly some new HVAC knobs, I'd like to figure something out for my tcase shifter, that stupid front cup holder divider, ultraguage mount, phone holder it never ends. I found a few things on thingiverse for tacomas but it's mostly 3rd gen crap. :bananadead:

Yeah the previous owner super glued it back together and when I went to adjust it, it fell apart. Of course it was the driver side arm that broke so I tried to flip the divider 180°, and wouldn't you know it doesn't fit that way. With 5 other cup holders within arms reach I just use that spot for random pocket stuff and loose change now.

Haha, I have all those files too. Somewhere... I mean I lost the hard drive in a tragic boating accident...

it’ll go boom at least once right?

My cup holder broke, super glue and epoxy wouldn't stick. I drilled a hole in it and tapped it for a little screw. It won't fall apart now. I didn't want to buy another one because it's a weak design and would likely fail again.
There is also the feeling of victory after a successful repair.

Cover the whole fender in masking tape. Let’s say 6 bolts attach to the snorkel and go through the fender, go grab six bolts of the same pitch and about an inch long, cut the heads off and sharpen them to a point. Screw the unsharpened end into the snorkel, align everything and press the sharpened studs into the masking tape. Bam you have an accurate template

my snorkel was originally for a FZJ80, i did the above mentioned way and it turned out great.
