I’m new to this site and I apologize if this is the wrong forum..

long story short, at 30mph and under I’ve been getting a very harsh clunking noise and when I looked under the truck, welp, I saw this.

looking for any help this wonderful community is gracious enough to give in giving me the low down on what I’m looking at, what’s the best way to tackle this (buy part first or just take it in).

many thanks ahead of time for I am novice but eager to learn.

    Matt.

You may be able to find a used one in a junk yard or go to a driveshaft place and have them replace that end. Looks like your U-joint has been gone for a while and worn into the housing.

Oh and welcome to the forum!

1- stop driving it. It is ready for complete failure.
2- need new u-joint, possibly new yoke.

You don’t state what you are driving. There can be several zerks on the DS that require grease. Recommend a professional inspection.

OP your luck is far better then mine .

That had to have been vibrating for sometime .

A used drive shaft might be the cheaper option

Nothing like having the drive shaft flying around and take out the gas tank then make nice sparks

It is dangerous to drive the truck like that. Hope it doesn’t fail and cause an accident that hurts you or others.
Some significant rust there. I wonder what the rest of the underneath of the truck looks like. Your yoke and U joints may be a small part of the problems under your truck.
