Bojangles is more of a southern thing. Great biscuits though.
We have a Popeyes nearby but I haven’t been to it. I did go to one in Atlanta back in November of last year and the chicken sandwich was pretty darn good TBO.

 

Our town had only a kfc and grocery store fried chicken, then in one year we got: Popeyes, zaxbys, raisin canes, chick fil a, slim chickens, and a second kfc, then a second slims. They build the churches, but never opened. It was the great chicken boom of 2017. Last year they started dropping like flies. I think we will be back to the kfc and maybe on or two others by this time next year.

town did the same with burger places a few years before. Smash burger, burger Fi, several others I can’t even remember. Only five guys remains and the burger place we already had before all the others anyway. Before that frozen yogurt.... and so on. The best was when we killed a national sandwich chain in less than 6 months. It was a potbelly and it opened just down from the sandwich place that has been in town for 40 years... they never had a chance.

 

I have a Popeye's near me. I've only tried the popcorn shrimp. Never cared much for Kentucky Fried Pigeon.

 

My last trip to Popeye's I tried their much hyped chicken sandwich. I was not impressed. They either cook the chicken different for the sandwich or else I got a bad one. Or maybe i was expecting Chick-fl-A type. Time before that i got some dirty rice and it was not like it used to be. Love their spicy breasts tho.

 

Same here. It's KFC or the other KFC. The last one I ate in was on the road in some rinky dink town in Nevada. After years of abstaining, I wasnt shocked to find it still tasted like shoe leather with cheap gravy.

 

The first time I had it (week one it came out) it was fantastic. Then they were out. Since it came back - it’s not quite the same. A little greasier, like it’s fried with the fries.

I like the Chick-Fil-A’s juiciness, the Popeye’s crispness, and the Whatachicken’s size.

 

My daughters absolute favorite.

I always mess with her & offer to take her on Sundays.
