ARB Twin Compressor (CKMTA12) Wiring

I ended up wiring like the diagram in post #10.

 

Followed your install almost exactly. Only difference is I got the manifold, just to provide a mounting location for the air chuck.

I did mine without running an extra line to the battery. If you look inside the connector coming out of the compressor there are actually 3 wires: Red, Purple, and Black. The factory harness doesn’t connect to the red wire (I think it’s used for the

I got some extra pins and repined/rewired the plug with one wire to the red and one wire to the purple (I used black wire since I didn’t have purple wire). Then ran them to a switch with a 5 amp in-line fuse. I'm not sure if the fuse was necessary, but I had it and I figured it couldn't hurt. Also, I was originaly gonna run the ground to the frame, but I called ARB and they said the black ground wire isn't needed.

Everything seems to work fine. Has anyone else tried wiring it like this?

 

Can you show some photos of your wiring to the switch you used?

Also, what size pins did you use (and where did you get them)? I like the idea of doing this as it keeps it clean and simple.

 

You just grabbed your 12V from the red wire instead of directly off the battery. Same thing from a different location.

For the switch I just crimped some female spade connectors to the wires and plugged them into this a basic switch: https://absolute-wits-end.com/waterproof-accessory-switch-20a/

For the pins and connector for the wiring harness search “GM Delphi Merti-pack 150”. Make sure you get all the little rubber plugs to seal things including the empty space in the purple plug. I got mine here:

Thank you for this thread. I was in the same boat not wanting a switch in the cab, nor having the entire wire harness since I don’t plan to do air lockers. The diagram shown really helped me simplify my wiring.
