    First day of bowhunting 2018 I'm getting ready to go out and my wife says, " Good Luck Deer". She said she meant "Dear".
    I didn't get a deer with the bow that year.

    The land we hunt near us is 44 acres. The man who owns it lives 4 1/2 hours away. I keep it up for him in return of him letting us hunt. So blessed to have this arrangement with him, and very thankful.

    He came by yesterday, first time I’ve seen him in 5+ years. He told me he has a man with a forestry mulcher over clearing some stuff and may be clearing some shooting lanes. I’m excited to see what he’s doing.

    As far as I know he’s never deer hunted the place and he’s talking about having some stands built.

    I told him I bought some clover to plant around Labor Day depending on the weather. He brought me 25 lbs of seeds to put with it.

    We have an "arrangement". I have specific rooms I can have taxidermy in, the den, the office and the second guest room. No taxidermy in the other rooms. But, there is no limit on what I do put in those rooms.
