So, after seven hours of working on the motorcycle today, I was unsuccessful in swapping in my rebuilt carburetors. I got them installed, but when I cranked the engine for the first time, fuel began spewing out from an unknown source.

Long story short, I was able to get the original carbs reinstalled and get it running again, which means I can now take my rebuilt carbs and tear them apart (yet again) on the workbench to see why they were leaking fuel.

I sure could go for a :sandwich: after all that.

I hate it when that happens. Mine was on a lawnmower. If I remember, mine was caused by a bad gasket, but I replaced the whole thing.

Yeah, it's possible that I installed a gasket backward/upside down, so I need to tear it all apart and figure it out. Worst case scenario is that the carburetor housing has a crack somewhere, at which point I could just take the new needles and jets in that one and swap them over to the good housing that's currently on the bike.

Thank God this motorcycle is easy to work on...

I'd probably do that. You'll know it works, plus then you could work on the old jets and tear down the carb and (if everything is good) have 2 good ones
