They only plug in one way, ha. And I've plugged, unplugged, and replugged that canbus module in so many different times. It's just not working for me. Been battling this for 3 months. 2 different stereos, 4 different canbus modules. It's just not working for me. It was a nice thought.

Do you have automatic climate controls? I have a idea

Dang, NM, I had some issues a while back because my radio kept detecting a auto climate control system and it caused weird glitches.

    Guess your trucks haunted

What solved that? It has been throwing up climate controls on the stereo screen sometimes after I finagle things.

In one of the settings screens you can select climate control or not. I dont remember if it was in the "car info" screen or if it was in the system settings (the passworded one)

Ahhh, ya, I doubt that would affect my ghost setting that max's out the volume and turns to the phone app, ha. Thanks for all the info though.

Just had some weird issue, wondering if anyone else has seen the same thing.

The screen in the instrument cluster used to have navigation and audio that are now nonexistent, but the tab was still there. Just noticed last week that the tab is now gone for me entirely. I now only have the first customizable page, tire pressure and attitude indicator, alerts, and settings.

Anyone else have the same issue, and if so, do you know what caused it? I don't know how long it's been gone, just thought that was weird.

Not a issue, but I have the same thing. If you plug back in the OEM radio you will get those screens back. The cluster will figure out what features it should be showing, and since those 2 screens are dead and blank with the new radio it just stops displaying them.

    Interesting, thanks!

I wish Joying would put up some proper wiring to get those screens to work too, but I guess beggars can't be choosers.

There are a few things I wish joying did, mainly I wish they didnt lock bluetooth down to the phone app. I have a digital sound processor under my seat, and it links with bluetooth, but I have to use a ipad or android tablet to use it.

I also wish there was some better integration in apps so it felt more like a headunit and less like a tablet.

I've had my headunit now for 2-3 weeks, really enjoying it. Apple carplay fires up within 10s of turning on the car. All I use is carplay, so I can't speak to the android features of the unit.

    My only complaints:
    1. Noise cuts out when in reverse (even when I change the setting to keep audio when in reverse)
    2. Sometimes Spotify won't produce audio when the car is turned on, and the carplay app has to be restarted
    3. Music volume is softer/quieter after hanging up from a call
    4. Can't map the voice assistant to siri, but that's ok I just yell "hey siri"
    5. need to play with EQ, when volume knob is maxed the volume of music is maybe 80% of what I would call "max"

But for $330 it's a pretty sweet headunit. Sending texts via voice is nice. The navigation (apple maps) assumes I want to go home at certain times of the day (which is correct) and auto generates a route with time estimate. The sound output improved over the stock unit. Wireless carplay is flawless (i keep my hotspot on 24/7). I highly recommend!

There is another setting that fixes this, but I don't remember what it is.

I actually like this feature, though it throws my wife off, she will start turning the volume way up when im reversing out of the driveway only for the radio come blaring back on when I hit drive.

I'll have to sit in the truck and fiddle with it some more. It does help me focus in reverse (in case I'm backing over something lol) but a bummer when the song is at a good part

Yes it is, I usually end up stopping after backing up in my driveway so I can rewind a little bit to where it started.

2020 Folks - If you're considering one of these, Joying sent me a USB cable that fit my harness and works perfectly. With that cable, everything seems to be working.

All folks - the Joying can use a USB hub. I mounted a slim 4-port Sarbent behind the passenger side of my screen with some VHB tape, then plugged 3 random thumbdrives into it. I was able to copy files between thumbdrives, create folders, and play music from them all. Still evaluating my music playback software, so far I like PowerAmp, Pulsar, AIMP, and BlackPlayer, but I haven't decided which one I prefer yet. None have been perfect, but all are adequate. Honestly, the built-in Joying payer is not bad either. Will keep testing over the next days. If anyone has suggestions, I'd appreciate them.

Here is the hub I used: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00L2442H0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

For everyone with JBL AUDIO i was finally able to connect everything so the CANBUS and JBL works as expected:))))

the only thing that’s needed extra is the AXXESS JBL ADAPTER TYTO-02 . I just combined the JOYING and the AXXES harnesses in to one with some soldering. And i have a properly working canbus and jbl audio now. JBL Works fine(i have working FADE AND BALANCE). Will be posting a walkthrough later.

I thought I saw it on this thread but perhaps it was another... someone had applied like a reverse polarizing sheet so the screen could be viewed with polarized shades on. Anyone have any leads?
