Good question, if the bump stop can be modified I don't see why not.

ONLY if you go more than 2.5 inches.

I see this picture all the time and laugh about it. There is a member on this forum that cut away the boot on the front shock and fully compressed the shock till it hit the bump stop. exactly 2.5 inches of extra shock travel. This was on a 3rd gen Tacoma.

Id say 2" max is safe for a top plate spacer.

I’m new to Toyota’s and I’m looking to do the same thing 2018 TRD Pro. Only looking for a 2” lift while still using the Fox shocks that come with the TRD pro.

I am still slightly confused as what is best to use. A 2” spacer? Who makes a quality spacer? Thanks guys

Same thing here, looking for just a little lift without sacrificing the fox suspension. From what I've read our only options are a spacer up front plus block and or add a leaf rear.
    Something like these:
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IIXM4W...olid=35ZXKJIOVY8S2&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073HR77R...olid=35ZXKJIOVY8S2&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

I'm waiting to see what I can find some other pro drivers are doing, I don't want to jack up my ride. I may just wait till my tires wear out and then try the 255/85/16 route for some added lift.

    ... I have a 08 fj 4wd and I am thinking of installing the shocks/coil from a trd off rd 2017 Tacoma...
I do have a two in. spacer on the fj with the stock shocks and coils now...
The Tacoma shocks seem to have a 1in spacer on it...
has any one done this install or seen it or any advise ?

This sounds like what i need, I run a canopy + roughly 150 pounds of gear daily , and more depending on what im doing and i find some sag in the rear, I also plan on a utility trailer/teardrop down the road.

    @Stefan_Ray

Did you wind up going with a top plate? If so how’s it working out?

Headstrong and toytec make the 1/2" top plate spacers that add 1" of actual lift/levelling

Superbump and Timbren both make poly spacers you could use to lower the factory or aftermarket front bump stops... wheelers stocks them

    /bump --- didn't want to start a new thread...

    Anyone have information/reviews on this?

    https://westcottdesigns.net/product/fox-trd-pro-lift-kit/#tab-description

"This is for Factory Fox TRD PRO, available for a 4Runner, Tacoma, or Tundra. This is not a spacer lift. This kit does not change the geometry of the factory suspension. This kit will not limit your factory travel or extend the travel pass factory."

    Found this:

It claims that its not a spacer lift but in the photo on the website it clearly shows a top plate spacer so idk if I would trust this company. It looks like it also includes a perch modification where you remove the factory spring perch and install a thicker one to effectively preload the spring. Also I dont know how you could claim that it doesnt change the geometry without modifying the control arms or shock/coilover mounts.

You can use any old piece of metal as a spacer. Since it is a terrible way to purposefully mess up perfectly good suspension none are really “good”. Much research and decisions are ahead of you if you would like a good lift on an awesome truck.

Do you have any side shots with that rake? The set up I'm looking at would give me about 1.5 inches of rake, not many guys out there have their truck set up like that

i was looking into this system for now. I found a few truck on instagram who are running this and they said they like it. I might do that too since i want to keep my OEM fox suspension.

I was torn from day one because of all the gear I carry ...much sagging..weak leaf springs in Tacoma

I did not want to replace the great Fox Suspension and thought RevTek kit AAL might be best option, well after much thought I have some paper weights for sale (Craigslist Central Calif)
I decided to go with the Firestone Ride Rite Air bag system...perfect choice for my application !!
ride quality stays the same and can load all the crap in my bed that I don't need

    Cheers
