OK, this pisses me off. A lot of sites, Amazon in particular, say that nothing fits my Taco. Looking for some door sill protectors and got a part number here. Went to BAM Wholesale and they say "This part (PT747-35201-02) MAY fit your 2019 Tacoma but this one does fit (PT747-35160). According to Amazon it does not fit. So how the hell can I determine if a part fits my Taco or not?

PS: I went through the exact same shit with the tailgate lock.

Amazon is very often wrong with the fitment of your vehicle. Use a different source for part numbers and fitment, and then order from Amazon.

Looks like one is for an access cab and the other a double cab.

PT747-35201-02 is "MY 2020" double cab
PT747-35200-02 is "MY 2020" access cab
PT747-35161 is "MY 2016 - 2019" double cab but this part number has been superseded by the 2020 DC part number
PT747-35160 is "MY 2016 - 2019" access cab so while technically it does "fit", the rear sills will be shorter

The 0 and 1 at the end of the 35xxx series differentiate between AC and DC. The 35xx0 or 35xx1 are the MY; 16 being 16-19, 20 being 20+, 05 being 05-15.

Who knows what database Amazon pulls their information from. It looks like on Toyota parts websites you cannot enter Access Cab or Double Cab when selecting your vehicle so I don't think their inventory system splits the two. Even using your VIN it will tell you an AC rear door will "fit" a DC truck. You just have to read the description of the item.

On Bam change your truck from a 2019 to 2020 and it will show PT747-35201-02 as "fitting" the truck. For some reason they removed the 2016 - 2019 portion. Also can compare "Other Names" for the item. The DC parts say "Dcab" in them.

In the future you could try going to the manufacturer's website. Many of these have the drop down menus to find their accessories (with part numbers) for your vehicle. This is what I do as I live in Canada and most of these websites are based in the USA and some don't offer shipping to Canada. I then take the part number from the manufacturer's website to other websites like Amazon or TDotPerformance to compare pricing.

In this case the manufacturer is Toyota. Don't think they offer this service for parts. :smack:

A few years ago I bought aftermarket headlights for my Tundra. The fitment told me that the ones I wanted DID fit. When I received them they didn't fit because they were for the crew cab, not the access cab. I called the seller and they replaced them with the correct ones. The person I talked with said that Amazon is not very accurate with the fitment. I was recently looking a LED bulbs for the back up and brake/tail lights on my new Tacoma. Several of the lights that were correct according to the owners manual (7443) were listed as WILL NOT FIT, but certainly appeared to.

I've decided that going forward, if Amazon says it doesn't fit I'll buy it from somebody else.
