DIY: How to Remove and Disassemble the Gauge Cluster on a 95-04 Toyota Tacoma (VIDEO)

Video tutorial on how to remove the gauge cluster on first generation Toyota Tacoma. You may notice some variations between the years, this is a 2001. The reason for removing the cluster is that my temperature started acting up again, so I’m looking into a common problem for these trucks. The same issue can cause a faulty fuel gauge too.

That's a really good tutorial. I've been into my two Gen 1 IPs multiple times, yet still learned some tips. I like the idea of the paperboard wedges to help get the gauge cluster lens off.

 

Thank you! Yep, it solved the problem. Been driving around for over a year without a temp gauge lol. Was installing a head unit so I figured it was the perfect opportunity to pull the cluster too.
