Cleaned with isopropyl and painted bare steel bed rack from TacomaBeast. Took a day off, finally, very rewarding.3A00B7E1-8859-4CAF-8150-45EFD2F42EEB.jpgA2867C81-7450-426F-BCBB-3525DEB9C055.jpg

yeah, it looks too small. but i think i'll contact them and see if they can send me a sample piece to try out, and if it works see if they can cut me a couple of pieces to fit.
    thanks for the heads up!

Awesome. My dad was a WSO in the Phantom II. Did a couple tours in Vietnam. He retired back in the early 90s when they decided to close Bergstrom AFB, and he got passed over for full bird Colonel. We've stayed in the Austin area since.

Thank you for serving! Hopefully you've been able to pass on what must be a wealth of knowledge to the younger generation out there.

Finished up an oil change, tire rotate, and air filter changes on both 17’s. Both hit 50k this month! Cleaned the engine bays up a little bit after all was done.

Just curious, would the 4Runner's hood heat insulation fit on the Tacoma's hood?
Would things just line up or would take some minor modifications?

    Thanks!
Always been curious. Hate cleaning under the hood when mud splatters up there.
Having the insulation pad would make cleaning easier, since I could just pop it off and pressure wash it.

Here is another video of the Borla Pro XS on an incline. Pretty satisfied with the sound.
Butt Dyno says there is performance improvements, but more testing is needed.

Largely stock at the moment. ARE Overlander bed cap. Much more to come as budget and workshop access permit.
nothing too exciting. I mostly took bed measurements for a cargo drawer system I want to build. Since I have a long bed, my plan is to mount a pair of house batteries forward of the wheel well in port and starboard side compartments, build a largeish storage box forward center, a pair of 4' long drawers (able to slide out 3.5 foot since the budget does not presently allow for adding $500+ to the cost to get heavy duty drawer slides) then storage compartments aft of the wheel wells for storing my road side emergency kit and tool kit, mounting my OBA in the driver side bed wall cubby (it will be hard to access there for repairs, but it does not need every day access). In each of the the rear side panels of the drawer system (the tailgate side of the side compartments)

I am going to have to redesign my house battery system plans as I recently realized a flaw in my plans for the front and rear Anderson Power Pole connections (when I can build my chuck wagon trailer, it would have resulted in two dissimilar battery banks trying to merge and become one, likewise I need to find a polarity safety relay to attach to the front and rear APP outlets I plan on installing when I do the house battery system I am a might paranoid about redundancy in electrical safety for my system. But I also want to future proof as much as possible as I plan to eventually upgrade from around 130Ah of AGM battery to 200+Ah of lithium with capacitor banks on both my house and cranking batteries.

I am going to install a pair of power distribution panels (drivers side will have 2: 12v marine outlets, a power switch, and a double USB-3 outlet, the passenger side power panel will have a compact V/A meter instead of the switch but otherwise mirror the driver side) I am waiting to get the bed rail stiffeners to get measurements from them to determine if I am going to be able to include a pair of folding cup holders.

Above the drawers I am planning on including a slide out whiteboard (the material is available at home depot) as I am a firm believer in "pre-flight briefings" when traveling as a group (both to cover initial route plans and itenerary, coordinate comms, and discuss any trip specific details as well as plan out group travel order so everyone known who belongs where in the convoy) but also for task specific safety briefings such as having lead rigger cover a vehicle recovery plan with the group so everyone knows their job where to be and where NOT to be, and since I am a Ham Radio Operator, the same will be true of safety briefings for tower work. I am debating if I want to make it removable as doing so would allow said briefings to be held someplace other than behind my truck in the parking lot, but would increase the chance of damage to the board.

While the back panel I only plan on painting, the top I plan on covering with carpeting, and at least 2 Omni-Logistic tracks to help secure cargo. (though I MIGHT have to cut up the tracks to fit around hinge points for the side storage compartments
