I don't shop at Walmart consistently, can't stand the place. Yesterday, I opted for convenience though after making a trip to HD and HF. To my surprise they carry OEM filters. Got a full synthetic oil change for $35, decided I should grab 2 at that price. What gets me is the oil. $23 for (5)quarts, single quart of the same oil $7.50.

Hopefully getting the last few items taken care of this week for takeover.

I'd like to go through and re-torque everything before the trip. Does anyone have a quick reference guide to torque specs? Or like a pre-trip torque checklist?

I know what you mean about that single quart price. I've gotten to where I just buy 2 of the 5 quart jugs and then I have that odd quart for the next several oil changes. Takes up a little more room on a shelf in the garage but I'll deal with it.

    quick question..

watched this 3min vid on the 5100.
    https://youtu.be/hBpLKyaG9BEIf

adding a complete 5100 set to the front, and setting at 1st above stock height, there shouldn't be a need for anything in the rear..getting pretty close to level, I would guess? And, that small amount of lift up front, 'shouldn't' be concerning in terms of CV angle/needle bearing..
    all I'd like is level.
    am I thinking correctly here?

    still learning..
    measure twice, cut once.

    thx for your time.

Needle bearing might rear its head in the future.. but it does that to everyone given sufficient time.

You'll be fine. Your alignment might not be perfect but it'll be good enough.

Getting the front diff out is easy.

    Pull the CVs.
    Remove your skids
    Unbolt the drive shaft.
Drain the diff! (This is important, ask me how I know).
Disconnect the diff breather tube and ADD module.
Take the rear nut off the diff (giant female hex hidden inside the frame near the drive shaft input).
Support the diff on your knees.
    Remove the front diff bolts.
Lift the diff up slightly to clear the bolt on the rear.
    Lower to the ground.

While you have it out might as well replace the seals too.

It still smells better than the basement what the fuck we combine it with at work. Only barely though.

My friend is buying an F350.

    My friend is an idiot.

You figure a 15k winch will be sufficient for the dumbass?

    Hard to forget.
That's the only loose diff I've experienced with a Taco.
I can't remember who lost the motor mount, but that v6 moved at least 4inches up an down.

Had a little fabrication fun yesterday. 1st time I had the notion to just go and make something with my fledgling welding ability.

Friend gave me a cart for my lawnmower and I had no hitch for the odd vertical reciever. Spent half the price to just cut one from Autozone and put it in a right angle rather than straight.
