I've got the same mount. Guess what I'm going to inspect today?

I understand... my dad is same way. He calls me for my help so I come over and help with whatever he needs such as computer which he knew nothing about and entertainment system hook up such as TV, airplay from his tablet to his TV... all that stuff.

I used to have X-10 years ago.. such as remote for lights, 360 camera, etc.. Cool stuff.

I still have remote for the lights which different brand that company made similar to X10. Still works to this day. I got it in early 2000s

Received my ecgs bushing deal and removal tool today. Is it normal to have that much surface rust on a new part? Should I try and remove it with something?

I also have the same mount, and ended up protecting the wire with a rubber fuel hose. Now, I'm thinking I should do a more permanent fix like @lupercal did. The company should stop selling these, and contact previous buyers to warn them of this problem. Sorry about your troubles, and thanks for posting this. Are you thinking of contacting the company?

DESIGN FLAW IN THE OVERLAND EQUIPPED AUXILIARY POWER KIT!!!

I know I posted these pictures but I just want to put the whole story together. After you read this nightmare, check out yours if you have one!
Go to start my car after work this morning and the beeping doesn’t stop, dash has all brake warnings and the info center says Braking Power Low, check ani-lock brake system and pre collision malfunction. Get the truck to the dealership and they check it out and they said that the metal panel cut through the brake booster wires shorting the brake system out. Right now I am looking at about a $500 bill IF my computer isn’t messed up and that’s IF they can put a new end to the harness. They said the wiring harness cost about $1000 alone if they have to replace the whole thing!!!! The last image with the blue circle was taken right off of Overland Equipped’s page and you can clearly see the edge of the panel on the wire. Terrible design flaw!!!! Next step is to contact Overland and let them know about this saga. So if you have an Overland Equipped auxiliary fuse kit, check yours out, return it or do whatever you have to do to get it off that wire. Learn from my lesson here.

Yes. I sent them an email on their contact us section. I’m not blaming them because buyer beware. But yeah, fix that design, recall that panel or let people know. I wasn’t too thrilled with that when I installed it but didn’t think this would have happened.

I agree and the tech and sales rep at my dealer said the same thing.

Please do. What happens if someone was driving and their brakes gave out and in a panic don’t remember to either downshift or pull the e-brake.

agreed. I'd be steering clear of them until I hear how they handle your case and plan to fix this. Now, this is also assuming you followed their install directions to the T and there was no user error.

Absolutely. That is a crappy piece of engineering and design work. How they could build and sell that is beyond me.
