The pedal commander just spoofs the throttle position sensor, it just thinks you are pushing the gas pedal further than you are. You can just give it more gas pedal and save 300 dollars.

Like the others have said...... OV and re-gear. The others aren't worth the money.

Side question though - why do you need to let your vehicle idle at a call?

Being a volunteer fire police and the warning lights I am required to use on scene i don't want to risk running the battery down repeatedly over time

I do plan on going full LED for warning but for my department do to being way out in the sticks with a ton of hard to see around corners I am required to have high and low warning coverage front and rear and if blocking off roads high and low on the sides as well.
I do plan on going with a gel deep cycle battery.
The calls.i respond to time wise can run as short as 2 hours upto over 8 hours+

Right on... a little off topic but what are you using for your lighting setup? Mag mount bar, lights on rack? Dash or windshield with suction cups?
Or are you using ***gasp** permanent mount stuff?

I plan to use an interior light bar and 2 light heads in the grill. I have a 52" curved flood bar that can also do warning "flood is all white, warning is clear unless on and is at the outer 1/4 of each side".
Side warning considering lights along the side running rails/rock rails and possibly 1 lightnhead in each side in back driver and passenger windows.
Rear.warning is an interior mounted led.light stick thats blue warning and can do traffic direction and there is a very thin warning stick called the tailgator that tucks between the top of the rear bumper and bottom of the tailgate, similar to the extra break lights you see added.
Contemplating 1 180 degree light head on the outside mirrors but might not as want to keep it clean and looks kind of incognito when not in use or needed.

Currently running dash lighta with suction cuos and hate wires being everywhere, drive me nuts but not hard wiring anything into a leased truck. I am planning to pick up a new tacoma within the next 2 years tops
