Does anyone have the "Stock" clearance of the rear bump stop above the axle?

My 250K mile springs with my standard "tare" load only leaves 1.625" before hitting the stops.

    96 Ext. cab 2wd, 2.4L.

    Thank you for your efforts.

    For a little context...

My pickup is somewhat loaded all the time. I have a light canopy that covers an 80 gallon fuel tank w/pump, that rides in front of the wheel wells. Then there are the ratchet straps, tools and other odds and ends as well as a receiver hitch. The fuel tank is not full all the time but gets full weekly.

I am in the process of installing on board air for my air bags and I think I want to get it to someplace close to stock ride height.

I am going about it in a bit different way than most. I am a truck mechanic and familiar with leveling valves, so that is what I am using. I am using a Viair 450C IG to feed a three gallon tank. I think this should run my leveling valve controlled bags just fine.

The springs are the stock old ones and very likely compromised, but I am not replacing them at this time. Greater than $500 with freight has been the deciding factor thus far. Yeah, I'm a tightwad. The only reason the compressor gets the nod, is that I can use the air for other things. That, and I may delete the spare tire to loose 40 or so pounds behind the axle, since I will have air.

My beds empty besides 2x4s and my spare. You may just want to do an add a leaf and if needed stack a shackle lift on top to get back to ur intended height with that much back there. Depends on how worn ur current springs are

Thank you for your time and efforts Das it mang.

I already have the bags installed from days gone by, I just wanted to get the height correct, so that the brake valve and driveline angles were optimum. I am currently adding a compressor and leveling valve so that that optimum height stays consistent with out all of the air hosing.

I may in the end replace the spring pack, as it might improve my unladen ride quality.

I have recently decided that I am going to keep this pickup for quite a bit longer, so I can justify spending a bit to improve it for my usage. Who knows, this may be my last vehicle, so it deserves a bit of love after all it has done for me the past 16 years.
