We have it in different engine modes on our 2014. In the top mode (s#), it holds gears as a feature.

Not directed back at you . . . Hopefully this doesn't become the Dev thread. The old complaints were about the constant AT shifting. Now, we are see complaints about it holding gears. Folks need to unwad their panties and get editing when the VFT files drop.

I really hate to open a wound, but looking on the MT side, we got excited about the AGM edits. Otherwise, life is quiet and folks are over the moon with what we got in 2.0.

You should trade mark it then.
This used to be on ol' b03 (..and was referred as a "rev hang" back in the time), disappeared in b04 and miraculously appear in 2.0.
Not a big deal. Back to scheduled programming....

I'm very happy with mine! I wish I could figure out how to be smooth in 1st and also not make the truck buck in low 2nd gear. Around 1,500-2200 rpm if I don't feather the throttle it surges or bucks the truck a bit and is not smooth at all. I understand that's very low in the RPM range but if I do it just right it has plenty of power for what I'm doing at 1,500rpm-~2,200rpm it just lunges very unsmooth like if that makes any sense.

Currently, I'm trying to tell if I can tell much of a power difference between different types of gas with the octane learning tune. 87 ethanol blend up to premium 93 with zero ethanol.

I lug mine in 2nd gear all the time and never really had an issue since being tuned.

From my experience when you have weirdness under 2000 rpm, it’s because you recently flashed and its still learning and figuring itself out. I just switched to Premium SFOB the other day and did LV resets as well. It ran super crappy for the first 50 miles or so but now that I’m up to a few hundred its super smooth

My truck definitely runs better on 91, even on the regular tunes. Did from the factory as well.

I normally drive between 1,100 and 2,500. No real issues here. SFOB can be aggressive by nature. Some folks have tried other octanes and the Base tune to get it in a sweet spot.

On 1.05, I only noticed the slight power difference when I went back to 87. It did not feel significantly different while running on 92.

On SFOB Prem, I did not feel a change going from 87 to 92 other than an MPG bump. I may run 92 in the summer and 87 in the winter? I will be interested to see if I feel a change.

Finally had the time to do some upgrading. Applied TSB, so I'm officially on 04B14. After being on SuperFOB on B13, I couldn't stay on a stock tune. Flashed to Premium SuperFOB for B14. Love me some OVTunes...

Would y'all advise resetting those LV's? I didn't know if that makes a difference on the manual transmission or not. I've only flashed once but have put about 1,400 miles on it since the tune. I just find it more difficult than I think it should be to provide a smooth ride below 20mph or so. It could 100% be me.

I’d give it a shot. When you are getting weird stuff like what you describe is usually when doing a LV reset will make a difference.

Once you do the reset, let it idle for 10 minutes or so. Then ignore any weirdness you get in the first 100 miles or so. After that it usually starts to get in the groove and once you are around 500 or so its really starting to shine.

Hellz yeah. The first time that I flashed 1.05 FOB 87, it did not go well. I thought it was me and was stalling about twice a day. I flashed to Base and was decent enough. Once the Resets were added to the Flash Tool, I tried them out. It was a very big difference. FOB 87 was the tits and the Reset fixed a couple other issues.

    Do it!

I'll do it as soon as I get home. I haven't upgraded vftuner since I flashed. I guess I'll download and install that as well.

You can do the Resets from FM or vF. They will do the same thing. Hit both DTC Reset and LV Reset. The AT Reset is not for us. :D

The Taco needs to be On without the engine running for them to complete successfully.

i have only done it once or maybe twice when i had a flashing issue back in like 1.03 or 1.04. i have upgraded from 04B12 to B13 to B14 and all the tunes from alpha without regularly resetting any of it and the truck takes the new code and runs it great, still with my LVs which makes the truck dance from the get go after flashing. i wouldn't mess with it myself unless i had a problem indicated i needed to refresh LVs. just a preference, but my truck just loves how it's been flashed and never has dog miles relearning anything, not necessary, it's all already learned (and i'm a consistent driver).

Did you to do the AT Reset?

Was your key set to On without the engine running? No Accessory.

Do an identify and verify your ecu revision matches the file you are attempting to flash.

Although, his earlier post said that he was only going to do the Resets?

Oh. I assumed he was flashing. Forgot about his earlier post

isn’t the messaging different when doing resets? Or maybe there’s an issue with resets on 2020s?
