So I had rough shifting on my Tacoma and troubles with placing the truck in drive. I cleaned up the area around the NPS and it solved all the issues except for the light coming up on the dashboard for the drive position. I had to downshift to 4 and then up to drive in order to place the truck in drive. Recently, I had the NPS replaced with a new one and still having the same issues of the drive light not appearing on the dashboard along with not being able to shift straight into drive from park and having to go into drive from 4th. Anyone with similar issue in the past and know how to fix it. I have no idea where to start in order to get it fixed.

Well, where did you happen to get your NPS from, as in, is it a factory part?
