If you dont do a lot of off roading, just get the 265/75/16 Wildpeaks in "P" load aka "SL". LT Tires ride rough but they're stronger and more puncture resistant. But they're heavy.

i would stay away from no name tires. stick with reputable brands. tires are literally your lifeline on the road. why gamble that to save a few bucks.

    Like, so many.
Go with the 265/75/16. It's a very common tire the on Tacomas. I suggest looking at the Falken Wilkpeaks, Nitto Ridge Grapplers, BFG KO2s, or Duratracs.

Hey OP, my 2017 SR5 4x4 (truck pictured) came w/ aftermarket 16" rims and the 265/70R16 Crosswinds you mentioned. While I can't say if they were loud or not new, these crosswinds for me ride very quiet and I'm getting 18mgp hiqhway, 15mpg city. Looking to replace them w/ Falken Wildpeak 245/75R16 around Xmas or if they wear out sooner :D

As to earlier response you got, :proposetoast: "Stay Skinny" means keep the 245mm tire profile instead of going to a wider 265mm tire. The "skinnier" tires should perform just as well off-road unless you plan on lots of mud bogging, and being narrower will slice through the 75mph breeze more easily for (hopefully) better mpg. Just my $0.02, YMMV. :hattip:

@Tacoma7677 there are 2 paths forward:

    1) Set aside a good 2+ hours to learn about tires. Don't look any up on Amazon. Instead start searching Tacoma World and make sure you have a good understanding of All terrain vs. Mud terrain tires, and load ratings (P, C, D, E). Then you'll be able to make a good decision that you won't regret and that you'll be happy with for a long time.

    2) If you don't want to do this, I highly recommend just taking Foster1's advice, you won't be disappointed. The Wildpeak won't look as aggressive as some of the mud terrain tires you posted, but trust me, those mud tires from Amazon will be cool for about 2 days and then you will hate them every time you drive your truck because you'll need ear plugs to keep from going deaf. The Wildpeak 265/75/16 will look significantly more aggressive than your stock 245/75/16 tires, and there will be small to almost no impact on gas mileage, ride quality, and road noise.

This is what you want: https://www.amazon.com/Falken-28034301-Wildpeak-Terrain-Radial/dp/B01C53COJ4
