A Toyota Diesel?

    This popped up in my google newsfeed. It's a patent doc for a Toyota engine and seems an awful lot like it's a diesel...
    Maybe for the Tundra, but very hopefully for the Taco...

    Unfortunately, probably not for the US. I have a new 2020 TRD OR but I tell you if they put a diesel in a Tacoma I would trade it in immediately. Had a BMW diesel and that was the best car I have ever owned. Wanted to keep it forever but off warranty BMW charges a fortune because they over engineered the thing and the sensors were very costly to replace and practically guaranteed to fail. My bet is that Toyota would do a better job with that ... A diesel Tacoma would be a dream come true .....

    It's a US Patent Doc....maybe, maybe not. A guy can dream though.

    Dreaming right along with you ... but hard to see Toyota going in that direction here. There was a moment a few years ago when I thought diesels would break through here ... then all that cheating happened (thanks VW) and now we all have to pay ...

    195HP 330 FT LBS TORQUE

    saw photos when i had my DCLB years ago
