Good morning. It’s the dog days of summer and my Taco’s AC has decided to stop blowing cold air. I think I will recharge it for now before shelling out the $$$ to fix the leak. My question is what pressure should I be shooting for? I read somewhere between 25-40 psi but I’m not sure exactly. What do y’all think? TIA

I filled mine recently. At 90* ambient, I only filled to 36psi low, 200psi high. Maybe could use a bit more.

Pressure is a very fickle way to play with ac. Technically you should fill r134a via weight and not pressure unless you know what you are doing.

    That being said, I wouldn't go past 40low/225high .

My 2012 will not cool at 40 psi but now at 50psi it will "freeze your eye balls" as my wife puts it. Ideally you need to weigh it in. I weighed in my charge and watched the gauges. IIRC I put in 21.5 oz

I used AC Pro on a 18 YO Saturn, worked great. Today, a can/gauge will cost about $40.

I usually "recover" the charge, fix the leak, and pull a deep vacuum and let it hold at 250 microns for atleast an hour. Then weigh in the charge. Same basic concept that I use at work putting in 250 pounds of refrigerant on screw chillers.
