New 2020 Tacoma TRD Stock

The 2008 Xterra is no more. I finally bought a 2020 Tacoma TRD Off-Road with a six-foot bed and slowly figuring out what to add on this summer. With approx $3,000 to spend on additions, what would you recommend for camping in the back with kayaks/mtn bikes/sups, light off-roading (driving to 4wd trailheads in Colorado), and of course moving furniture/lumber? Everyone and their mothers have advice on what options to add, but with CO-VID my business and income are down the tubes. 3k is the max for this summer and I should be able to add more next summer when the economy rebounds (and recruiting returns).

As I sort through the forums I've seen some stellar commentary. For every opinion, there is a counter opinion (which I like).

For $3,000 I could get a decent AIR or LEER riser camper shell and some upgraded tires or suspension. I could also get a soft topper and both upgraded tires and suspension.
