Been getting in more and more trails this year on the stockoma dirtlimo! Have decided I will upgrade as I wear out or become limited to what I want to drive. Aside from tires one thing that has become pretty annoying is the wheel hop that starts anytime theres a slight loss in traction in the rear. It seem to be all the same 2wd, 4-hi and 4-low, sand, dirt, wet logs.

I will probably lift at some point (<2") but a suspension change to correct this may make it sooner. Does just adding an AAL correct this axle hop? or is there a better fix? I typically have ~400lbs in the back when loaded for camping with the canoe + 1 passenger.

I’ve heard fhe factory spring is pretty weak, especially when loaded.

you may need to take a page from an old drag racers book to fix it

So the rear end is bouncing? Are you driving fast on bumpy terrain? Could just be the shitty stock tires slipping, try dropping your psi more

it is shitty stock tires. this is just slow crawling and loosing traction. I figure it would only be worse with better tires as there will be more traction to wrap the axle. This is typically in situations that if i could keep a slow spin going i would creep over said obstacle.

Yeah mine does it in sand pretty consistently. I’ve heard dropping psi can help mitigate it

I've noticed in sand that the traction control mode has an effect; when the computer is trying to stop wheel spin and I'm trying to spin things get bouncy. Turn off the traction control for sure. Take a look at the stickied chart describing different traction modes.
