I'm fine with that plan. I may be open to playing around on more trails after as well since it seems the wife isnt joining me.

Heads up, the store at Fort Vallery is chronically out of permits. I've never had an issue at Woodstock though.

That's cool, Bill. I was just using Woodstock, for the north reference.

Ok. So north to south is the plan...but there is the nice, scenic Woodstock Tower road that will take you to the north entrance. It's part paved, part gravel, with switchbacks going up the mountain with views over the whole Shenandoah River Valley.

Don't worry about it. Just to cut any confusion, I'll just meet at Cook's Exxon too.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
A little late to the party here, but a rider (Zero turn or garden) should handle those with ease. I rode zero turn for a few years while working on my masters, and we would do subdivision berms steeper than those. If it helps, just keep your speed down a bit. Ne need to test the safety features if you don't have to. Another option would be a wide cut walk behind. I used a 48" Toro walk behind for years cutting my house and a few neighbors. Saves you some $$ without the riding equipment, and you can put a "Jungle wheel" on and let it pull you arond.

I grew up on Ford, dad retired there. I lost faith in Ford over the last three vehicles I had. My '03 F150 was designed to get you to the shop. Five Coil packs before 50k. Fuel rails over the "lifetime" spark plugs which were down to nubs at 70k, and I couldn't change because I didn't know how to deal with the fuel rails. 2014 and '16 Focus. Transmissions issues left and right. And then Ford covered it up, which was found in the class action law suits. They said a faulty transmission was not a safety issue because the brakes and air bags worked. Tell that to the semi that almost ran me over because the car would not accelerate. Then they wanted to put the same trans in the Ranger. I gave up my dads discount (2% under dealer invoice) for the Tacoma when Ford wouldn't put a MT in the Ranger. They need to prove themselves to me now.

FYI, good luck getting an appointment at the DMV for the next 2 months. Thankfully, you can renew licenses online.
