Elka 2.5 coilvers with DSC adjustable resi's and Elka 2.5 rear shocks with DSC adjustable resi's. I also am installing @boogie3478 old SPC UCAs (with new set of ball joints) and will be removing the Front Diff Drop spacer (already got replacement stock hardware in anticipation). Hoping I can knock it out with my neighbor or get up to do it with my BiL. I know it's not overly complex or difficult, especially not having to do the leaf spring swap...but as the name now implies I need supervision/guidance lest I start breaking, stripping or overall ruining Taco "things".
Marie at Headstrong was very patient with me as my intial goal/kit slowly eroded due to Boogie's too good a deal to pass up, then I went with Dobinsons Heavy Leaf Spring over Dakar or Icon that they offer...overall I'd say I haven't found a better price than what she worked up for me, especially since they're exclusive extended length coilover offering.

    Coilovers:
    https://www.headstrongoffroad.com/s...for_2005__Toyota_Tacoma_-_90003_or_90172.html

    Rear Shocks:
    https://www.headstrongoffroad.com/s...s_(Pair)_for_2005__Toyota_Tacoma_-_90005.html

Now I might need @EatSleepTacos expertise with the front resi mounts if I end up putting on the C4 reinforcement bumper brackets that came with the SSO hybrid bumper...pretty sure modification would be required to get both mounted with the sway bar, too.

Carry over quote FYI, but Bill now that I see this post, you got me second guessing swapping stock UCA's for the Light Racing...thankfully with the recent bumper swap front rubbing for most trail and on road is NON-existent...but now you got my brain in a full spin!!!!!!!!

FYI still haven't done anything about the pinch welds post CMC, but then again I'm not likely going to be sending it like @boogie3478 and @EatSleepTacos and the former off-roader turned prerunner known as @Darkgoatracer.

After market UCAs gain caster by moving the upper ball joint back. Your SPC are adjustable meaning you can move the ball joint fore or aft at your leisure. The recommended setting is right in the middle, but if you have rubbing you can move it forward, putting it closer to factory upper ball joint area.

My off-road set rubbed on the pinch welds and they are 265/70/17. I do have JBA control arms. My pretty set of wheels with the same tire size, but all-terrain tires did not rub. I didn't want to hammer the pinch weld in, but did it anyway. No rubbing.

That was my initial thought after reading about them a year or so ago, then again after ordering the new ball joints and the reviewing install instructions...but you know our minds can be a dangerous thing!!!

Not sure how or when I update my wife, since I think she thought my suspension upgrade ended post HH and leaf springs...but to be fair I did explain what was entailed in said upgrade, but I know she drowns me out once I get semi-technical, or include math/numbers. All considered, it's was paid for/off back in the spring (thanks CV delay), and I stuck within my budget...but I have a feeling it's not going to be received with that understanding!!

I believe you have no choice. The bigger struts require an aftermarket uca to not hit the strut at full droop

Yeah with the dealer installed spacer, at full droop the stock UCA has rubbed the coating off both coil and arm at the contact point...which I could say it was from actual flexing, but sadly just from 2pt lift maintenance and mod work!!!!!

Thanks again for the keen insight!! I got the rear door clips installed, now when I eventually do sound deadening I might actuall pull out those stuck between the outer and inner skin! Also got the side retention bracket in, albeit the fender well side was off a bit, so I had to kinda "bring it together" with the 10mm screw that normally goes there!

Trust me, it's just my mind fucking with me!! Plus I hope to only have a shelf full of OEM parts for backup/emergency need/parting out and going stock!

I have mine tomorrow morning at 8:30 to finally switch to a VA license. Scheduled it in May and it was the only time/day available so my guess is someone cancelled while I was looking. Crazy stuff.

    Hi Adam,
Speaking of setups, can you impart any information on the leaf packs I got off you?
I'd like to know as much about them as possible for mating them up with the coils I got off Nick.
Also, I remember you saying I'm going to need longer U bolts. Do you know how long?
    Thank you,
    Rob
