    I live in Alaska and starting to think about winter. Have an SR5 and I'm wanting to put in an engine block heater and remote start, anyone have something that they have used and like, or any recommendations?

    REMOTE START RECOMMENDATION: Since your a keyed ignition like me (SR5ers FTW!) I recommend what I've used since Jan. The iDatalink HC1151A. I only spliced a few wires and its been a great add-on. $163 from Amazon then 30 for the t-harness from BestBuy. It allows secure takeover. I auto-start, later unlock, get in, put my key in and turn to ON (do not actuate the start just put it pass accessory) then step on the brake and off ya go! The door opening does not cut it off and the key is securely taken over. You "can" configure it to cut off on door open if you want...all over the USB cable and a PC.

    UPDATE: That T-harness saves a lot of need to splice which is worth every penny.
