Do you store the ramp in the bed? I have the same ramp and have been trying to figure out a quick and easy storage solution. The ramp is awesome!

I usually store it on the platform in the cab. Then when the dog is with me I store it in the bed.

I've noticed it can fit on its side under my tonneau cover, so I might figure out a way to secure it like that when it's in the bed. I'd use the bed cleats, but that track is being utilized to keep my tonneau in place...

My other thought was to strap it to my (yet to be installed) roof rack. I can follow up on how that works when I have the opportunity.

I have the same ramp, and keep it in the bed when not in use. The bed mat keeps it from sliding around, and I use a cargo bar to hold it upright against the tailgate out of the way when I have to load the bed with anything.

20200703_161323.jpgmy old guy's ready to go. 20200703_162713.jpg 20200705_140134.jpg 20200705_140105.jpg I used the gate latch option I read about on the forum. I WAAAY overpainted the latches with plasticoat to help with the rattle. Then a paracord handle for easy breakdown. Greatest TW mod yet.

@powder1134 Great call on the plasticoat and Paracord!

I've been electrical taping mine each time and it's kind of a pain and will vibrate back into rattles eventually.

Thanks for the great ideas everyone! I took a stab at this (my wife and i are getting a puppy on friday) and i think it came out great!

Some notes from my build: I used 3/4" ply, cut a couple inches off the height to shorten the back pieces, and decided to cover all sides of the plywood for a more finished look and am glad i did. I did wrap a scrap piece of plywood first for practice, and am glad i did to hone my technique. I used adhesive spray to glue the carpet to the faces of the plywood which helped keeping the carpet tight as i stapled the edges.

For the holes for the seat brackets, i decided to cut them out on the bare plywood before i applied the carpet. I carefully determined the location of the slot while dry fitting, then placed 2x 5/16" holes spaced 2" apart edge to edge and cut out the material in between with a jigsaw. I filed the slots to fit, then cut out the slots on the carpet as i glued each side.

Is your Tacoma a 2nd gen? Can you list the dimensions you used for the 60/40 split? I'm wanting to do the same thing for my 2nd Gen though I want to account for the added carpet in between so it isn't too tight.

Yes, this is a second gen (2014) . My measurements for the split was 32" for the 60% section, 20" for the 40% section. 23" deep platform, and 19" high for the back section.

Bump. Big thanks to the OP. My 80 lb dog is much happier. I left the backseat corners in tact and wedged it back. I find it holds it slightly.

I'll agree, with a 100lb Chocolate Lab that has had some ALC repairs a
    Ramp is priceless ;)

Just bought it, but it's been lifted and who knows what else has been crappily done before I got it. It's going to be a project for sure... but it's my daily driver too.
Dang! I wish I was closer to Cali... since all of my tools were stolen, I haven't felt like replacing them, so I'm willing to pay for sure. Excellent job! Plus, I love the option of being able to use one side or the other since there's a teen and a dog involved (just gotta decide who gets the bigger side now; hahaha).

Here is my version a long with my 5 year old boxer Marley. I used tent pegs to hold the seat down, I plan on trimming them down a little.

Still the single greatest mod I've done to the truck. Mine is almost permanently in place, so I'm slowly approaching rear seat delete and a new platform.

I have an 11 Tacoma with double cab . I was just thinking about how I can get more room for my 2 dogs instead of selling it and getting some type of van for them. I have 2 Leonberger's, Kara is 118lbs and Zeus is 127lbs and when i bring them for rides its kinda tig so I was thinking today about putting the seats down and doing something like you did. Did that give you more room and did it make it higher than if they were on the seats ? Thanks, and suggestions would be greatly appreciated
