    Another timing cover leak:pout:
Sorry bud, that's not good if you are out of warranty.
It looks pretty bad, I'd get it in soon.
At 58k, I am not sure this falls under the power train 60k warranty

Timing gasket. 60k or 5 years, you could be at 59,999 as long as you get it recorded by the shop they'll cover and you'll get like a 1 year warranty. Get it in asap.

For some reason I thought Toyota was denying these for some "powertrain" loophole.

Ones I've seen have been over 60k. The few others were well under 36k and it was covered

The 2nd gens with 4.0L has a leak Of the timing cover by the power steering pump too. The cause is the the thickness of the mounting flange on the PS pump is a little wider than the area it fits into on the timing cover, pulling the TC away from the motor. Per advice here on TW, I removed the PS pump, filed down the flange on the pump so it would slide back into the TC with ease, slathered up the TC joint to the motor with permatex right stuff and put back together.(put pump back on). Several thousand miles later, no more TC leak.
I wonder if the same/similar situation exists on the 3rd gens 3.5L?

My Tacoma hasn’t had any issues, but it’s only got 22k. My Tundra with the 5.7 had a timing chain cover leak at 25k covered under warranty, $1800!! Must be a Toyota thing:notsure:
