I know it seems stupid, but im really OCD about my car and the idea of this being there absolutley triggers the shit out of me. Im thinking about buying a new fender and having a paint shop paint it for me, or just leave it and go to an auto body shop. Does anyone have any suggestions? I tried repairing it myself and warped and beat the shit out of it, so the paintless dent repair is out of the option.

Is there a good memory associated with the dent or a bad one?

It’s pretty crazy what the PDR pros can do if you find a good shop honestly, but it’s also crazy expensive (I had a 4” dent fixed and it was ~$400). I say just leave it. I was obsessive with mine for a long time but at the end of the day it’s a truck and it’s meant to take some beatings. Gives it character. Also if you offroad it shit will happen it’s going to become very expensive fixing every little thing every time.

100% agree. If this is an option, leave it alone.

If it really is “making you sick” then by all means, fix it.
If fixing it gets you back to a functioning “normal” life. Fix it.
I do have OCD, clinically diagnosed as a child. Still have it today.
If you can ever get past the dent “ being there” , your life will become much easier when it comes to your truck.

    You’re Obsessing over the dent.
The Compulsion is to fix it.
You’re only going to feed the Disorder.

And that doesn’t work. It makes it WORSE.

And if you really don’t have OCD, well now you know the general “workings” of it.

Ignore the haters, theyre the ones that open ther doors with no self awareness of door dings, like you I take pride in keeping my truck looking clean and sharp, nothing more beautiful than an older car that is taken care of, I would mask the parts that are affected around with mask tape and paper, sand it down, bondo, get the right paint and blend it in

I can kinda relate it still bothers me about the 66 vette my 76 chevy pick up the garage and the house I burned down .

It is your Truck !! Get it fixed get the whole Truck painted if your that OCD the paint will never match to suit you. It would be a constant back and forth to who did the work looks great to them not to you.

If it bothers you that much what will happen if you get a real dent stroke heart attack??

Between the Evil deer 3 impacts deer just stuck out there tongues and laughed and ran off .

At least they did not come in through the windshield .

poor fork lift drivers 2 impacts nothing major hit

Then to me it is a tool to get used .

    Best of luck!!

I’m really impressed with the fact you removed the flare without destroying all the clips.

    Replacement fenders are cheap. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/toyota,2001,tacoma,3.4l+v6,1375343,body,fender,1380

However, getting the paint matched.... You may trade loosing sleep over the dent for loosing sleep over the fact that your new fender is a bit off color. Which do you prefer as a potential root cause for insomnia is the real question here.

Me personally, I'd install the replacement fender, drive to the paint store, and have them mix me some paint. You could have them put it in rattle cans if you don't have a compressor or are not confident with spray gun. A new fender is easier to get a decent look than trying to apply over previous paint.

If you are not happy with your paint job, sand it back down and go to a professional.
