I believe camera comes with 3 different shims worse case scenario use all 3 shims to get camera passed bottom portion of pro grille if using yotaleds bracket or buy different style camera not angled all together

I don't get it. That seems to be a very unreasonable place to mount it.

Mine is mounted like the rear view camera. I can take a photo if you want to see it.

I would check to be sure that all the connectors between the HU and the CS Interface are firmly seated on both ends. Best way would to unplug each cable at each end and then firmly plug it back in. Do this with the ignition off and acc mode off.

If you can take a photo....you used a bracket or mounted the camera directly by drilling a hole into the grille?

I'll try that but in the meantime should switches one two and three be on or off or some combination of that?

I don't have a 2020, so I can't help with switches. But the fact that your Backup Cam is not working sounds like a connector issue to me. When @jarbarian was having issues several weeks ago his backup cam still worked even when the front cam would not.

Thanks for the reply. I'll try to do that today.@jabarian seems to think I have a defaulty controller. Getting in contact with Taco Garage seems to be about as random I was hitting the numbers on a roulette wheel. Have to say the customer service there is subpar.

They were left to the default settings. I think 1 and 2 were flipped the rest were not. I bought the Germes box from Germes, not Taco.

No bracket. Mounted it under the TOYOTA logo on the TRD grille.

Is there room to mount camera further back flush where it doesn't stick out?

I believe the unit was sent to me with the first three switches turned on and all the others turned off. It sounds like switch three needs to be turned off. It's a shame you can't easily confirm that that's the situation with yours.

Not really, that's as far back as you can go.

I can't really pull my dash apart but I do recall the first 2 switches were toggled, the rest were not.

Also if you have a 2020 you need the Gen3 Germes module, not the Gen2.

I got mine from Taco Garage. Is there a way to check the model number on the unit? If there is do you know what the generation 3 model number is? Thanks for all the help and the quick responses @jabarian

If you have DIP switches it's the model that works with the 2020's. The prior model Germes unit had no DIP switches.

So after playing with it, pressing mode 2 times the front camera will come on, if I press mode again it will go to rear camera for a second the back to radio. I needed to use the up and down track buttons to freely swap from front and rear cameras. I think mine works the way it should.

Yes. And whichever camera is currently being displayed, if you press and hold the up or down button until you hear a "beep", the displayed camera will remain 'on' until you press Mode again, or press the up/down buttons again, or change the gear selector.

    Arrow DOWN = back camera.
    Arrow UP = front camera
    Mode x1 turns camera off.
