I have no place to park it at my house. Let me talk with my buddy and see if I can park it as his compound. He has a shop I can work out of also.

Sweet thanks! How much of a "shop you can work out of" does he have? If I could find a place to do this motor swap while I wait to find a new house to buy, that would be rad. Ill gladly pay someone rent to use a space where I can work.

Anybody know of a Tundy for sale? My buddy is looking for a V8 4x4 4 door, could be first or second gen. High miles is fine, $15,000 budget.

I added a Frontrunner drawer to the back of my FJ and a MSA drop down fridge slide. The front runner is good quality but it takes a ton of adjusting to get rid of the rattles and mine came with the wrong turn buckle anchors so I had to pick up new ones from Ace. Also I think the handle latch could be improved. The MSA slide was crazy expensive at $800. Because of the drawers I could not open my ARB fridge at all and with a normal slide it made it way too tall to see into once out. The slide is a great build and we haven't had a single issue with it. The mounting hardware it comes with is a joke so you'll want buy to proper bolts to bolt it down. It's nice to have the fridge bolted down after the last 5 years of it sitting on the floor of the back area. I never really had any issues of it moving around with the tool bags next to it but it is good piece of mind. The slide has holes on the base plate for just about every fridge out there so it is bolted directly to the slide using the factory holes for the feet. The straps are really there as extra protection and the came with the kit so I figured I'd toss them on.

As the last of my parts trickle in for the LS swap and every house Im interested in goes under contract before I get a chance, Im starting to think I need to rent a garage space to do the work. Not a heck of a lot available and most ads on craigslist specifically say "no auto repair" and very few have month to month options. Anybody know of a secure place I could rent for a reasonable fee for a month or two work on the Blazer?

My brother has a garage near Union Hills and Seventh street. Standard house height, not sure if that works with the Blazer. Let me see if he would be interested in letting you use it for a while.

Thanks for the offer but it does not fit inside a standard residential garage door.

Howdy all. I bought a new aftermarket key fob to replace a lost spare and have been researching how to get it programmed and cut. Most of the quotes i received from locksmiths in Phoenix have been $130+. Started reading more about programming through the Techstream software and went down the rabbit hole of TSB updates and OVTune. Now i am considering a purchase of the Tactrix cable to update TSB on my 2016 TRD Sport M/T or just buying the cheap chinesium cable just to program the key and stay away from the ECU. Anyone have a similar experience?

Well I found some used cross bars for cheap and snagged a relatively inexpensive roof tent from a shop in North Phoenix called Vagabond. They are right by the airport, a mile from my old house and I never knew they were there until this week. Chill younger family(husband and wife and a little brother) that runs the shop and they have two really cute shop dogs.

The tent is a Roam Adventure Co. Vagabond Lite. Its similar to the really cheap soft roof tents like Smittybilt's but definitely has some nicer touches. Beefier construction of the bars/hinges/etc., higher quality cover, nicer mattress and some other little things. I grabbed the only one they had left which is the smallest one out there. Only weight a little over 100 pounds so its barely noticeable on the truck. Plan is to sell this as soon as I finish the LS swap in the Blazer. So I probably wont change it up although there is room on the passenger side to mount an awning.

I installed it without the silver extruded aluminum bars that its supposed to use to mount to the rack. I also drilled 4 new holes so the tent is now mounted in a double shear type situation with 8 bolts that are 5/16" and 2" fender washers on top instead of 4 bolts that are 1/4" single shear with little baby washers. Not using the extra bars lowers the overall height about two inches. It clears the garage door by a solid 6".

Well, I was under contract on a house but I backed out. So right now I have no idea. Honestly, probably 3-4 months before I can actually take the thing on trips again. I still need to find new a house, buy it, move in and then drop everything else in life to do the swap.
