    I love the whole drivetrain honestly, before the taco, I drove a 2.2 5 speed s10, so the 2.7 is a major improvement. I even like the stock shifter for what it is. As for downshifting, if you rev match properly, there is nothing wrong with it, however the brakes should be more than adequate

    Avid Offroad light bar, trd skid plate, are cap, billy 5100's
    The 4cyl should out last the truck. You get used to it. Mine does 80mph towing a 5x12 with 2 quads just fine.
