    Hello TacomaWorld,

New here! Looking to buy a 2020 Tacoma TRD Off Road Double Cab. Not really interested in the fancy Interior package. Is $38,250 (including sales tax, dealer Fees, registration etc.) an okay price for the attached truck? Any advice is appreciated as this will be my first time ever purchasing a new vehicle

We tend to not discuss OTD prices because, tax, title, license and fees vary WIDELY across states and areas. General rule of thumb is 10-12% off MSRP prior to TTL. In early COVID people were getting close to 15% off MSRP with the $1500-1750 rebate (also varies by region). Now that inventory has dried up many are struggling to even locate a TRD OR let alone get 10-12% off MSRP as most dealers are commanding and getting MSRP or markup for what inventory they do have. Now remember too, the special APR and rebate cannot be used together, so depending on you situation it may be better to take the special rate instead which may put you closer to 8% off MSRP instead. But you can play it however you want. I would say right now depending on your region is not the ideal time to try to be buying a new Tacoma, deals are just not there. But you should be shooting for 10% off MSRP prior to TTL, there are rare occasions where you can do better for whatever circumstance (dealer needs to meet sales numbers, big rebate, a pandemic, recession, etc.). Depending on your situation if you're willing to try to wait it out to get a better deal or ready to buy now and don't care is up to you, hard to gauge you're deal here as we have no idea what you are paying for TTL.

Buy it! The plant was shutdown for a couple months and a lot of dealers have low or nonexistent Tacoma inventory. It’s a nice truck and the price seems pretty average.
