I congratulate you on planning ahead. I spent over a year planning on which trim I would get. Personally, I would rather have too many tools on a truck and not need them, than to be stuck in a situation that the truck can't get out of. I saved a little more and got a Pro. No additional mods needed, except for some Meso Customs and KTJO4x4 things. Love, love, love my Army Green Pro. Well worth the additional investment.

I think that's the biggest problem with these threads, it's all about personal taste. To me, CC, and the locker are all but useless add-ons that bring absolutely no value at all, I've lived in northern states most of my life and have never been in a situation where I have needed it. Though I do generally agree that it would be nice to have these features if needed, with vehicle purchases you always have to 'give and take' and weigh all value over cost unless you can afford to buy a Pro at a premium. No one is saying that these features are not cool, but for the buyers in the TRD trim level bracket, choosing the trim that best gives them the most value for the money. For many, (and from the OPs original post I'm assuming is included), most will never need or use CC or locker, after all, how many countless threads do we see pop up here every week from people asking how to even use 4-wheel drive?:annoyed:

My point is that buyers are making a choice between features at this level. For many owners, and probably a high percentage of OR owners included, they never even touch the 4x4 knob let alone have an actual need for a locking diff, to me those people paid extra for an sticker on the side of the bed. I think in the end these threads are pointless because owners just become entrenched in the decision they made and then they post about how their truck is the best choice because that's what they decided for themselves, it doesnt actually help anyone because no one can have an actual conversation that offers counter arguments for anything other than what they bought, just the nature of people. But who can pass up a good "what trim should I buy" thread, at least they're entertaining even though extreamly predictable.

In my opinion the offroad would fit the bill nicely for you

Get the OR. The only thing missing on it is the scoop. :oldglory:

For me it came down to the SR5 or OR and I decided the 1800 bucks for the OR was worth it and would mostly come back to me come trade-in time. Sport was never a consideration.

I got an SR5 as I plan on keeping the truck as long as possible. The electronic systems like Crawl Control, MTS, HAC, E-locking Diff, etc worry me in the 100k+ mileage range. That's all the crap you gotta have fancy tools to diagnose and repair. :crapstorm:
