What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I pulled the radio back out of my truck so I can try and complete some mods that I have been putting off.
I noticed on the back of the AC control is a burnt wire/terminal. It isn't bad just discolored a little so it's noticeable.
Should I pull the wire/terminal and tighten it up. It's a loose connection that causes this, correct?

 

Yeah, It's kind of a PITA. I did the doors and rear panel when I put in the new tunes. One of these days I'll get motivated enough to do the roof and floor.

 

I’ve watched a few of his videos. I cannot make it through his old stuff though, video quality is just too bad. Seems like a great guy!! Videos keep getting better.

 

A loose connection could cause it. If there is not enough area for current to pass you get resistance and heat. Corrosion can do the same thing. I recommend testing the resistance of the connection with an ohm meter. If it's more that .5 to 1 ohm, consider replacing the connector.

@HAVOC , If you are not to concerned at the moment, check this connector, If your blower goes out.

It's an ARE Classic cap but I don't think they make them without side access anymore. It came with my truck when I bought it.

 

Thanks! Inside door panels are annoying cause you have small space to work with, window gears, and lots of blind spots. Cant fit a full sheet in without bending and wrinkling so you have to cut them down. Outside part, roof, and back wall went super fast. Drove it to the store this morning and could tell a difference. Inside feels sorta like a sound booth now, interior sounds didn't seem as loud or noticeable now.

 

The extra chain usually stays on top of the rim when you raise it. I would lower and raise the tire again making sure the excess chain pools on the upper part of the rim. When you get about half way, if you see it coming through, stick you hand under there and pull the excess above, on top of the rim.

 

Thanks @EatSleepTacos and @pabstsmeared for the inspiration to get the third brake light finally done on the Best Top. I have been looking for a good solution for years. I even put a disconnect in it so I can remove the top. Partially blocked by the spare but a driver behind me should be able to see it.

Fully detailed with my Griot's G9 and Wolfgang 3.0 Swirl Remover, Finishing Glaze, then Blackfire Paint Sealant. Later today as this has all cured now for 48 hours I will apply Blackfire Midnight Sun Carnauba Wax.

 

Pulled out that awkward tray holder in the dash that I never use and installed a kydex holster in there. You can BARELY see the butt from the passenger side window so it's fairly hidden. More accessible than the center console. I think I like it.

 

I installed a rear camera a while ago. When I installed the rear camera switch it required 2 holes, one in the dash and the other in a small plastic trim piece. I cut the holes in 2 different places on the 2 pieces, lol. So instead of spending a few dollars on a new trim piece and cutting the hole in the correct location I spent hours modifying it, it still isn't perfect, but it's a keeper...

 

I am thinking about doing the roof just to keep the heat out. Great project!

I've rearranged my priorities, putting Dana 60's and a FJ TC on hold, do a "step in the right direction" on my truck, and focus on my tiny piece of land and building a house on it.

So today I bought some used 5100's. I'm going to ditch the 3" front strut spacers, install 1" strut spacers, and install these 5100's on the front. I'm going with 600 lb springs because it's stock in weight.

After that it'll be rear springs, probably from National Spring.

I got my eye on some take off rear shocks, TRD Pro, but there's a misunderstanding going on somewhere. The listing shows pictures of rear shocks, the writing for the same ad is for front struts, I asked the guy which set is it, and he said the pictures and the description were correct. I'm pretty sure I'm going to pick those front struts up and install them where the rear shocks go. LOL.
