I swear I was kidding about the potato thing.

I would never shove a potato up someone's tailpipe except in circumstances of extreme comedic value.

Headers and glasspacks. I drive my MGB maybe 200 miles or so a year that is enough for a single Cherry bomb muffler. I drive the Tacoma a lot more I don't like throbbing headaches and having to turn up the radio.

I'm considerate of my neighbors especially with my Camaro . I won't start it up before 8am and not after 8pm and usually try to drive it once week . But trying to keep a 600hp sbc quiet isnt easy especially with 3"exh and one chamber flowmasters . I usually idle thru my neighborhood being as quiet as I can until I'm on the main road

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
Can we keep the drama to the 3rd gen Threads?

to the op, if you want a louder exhaust, I’ll warn you now it’ll sound like a Honda. Do what you want. But a nice muffler can be a little more noise and not obnoxious. Magnaflow 18” will sound fine. Larger pipes will hurt power. Keep the pipe size stock.

my tundras loud, my Tacoma’s loud. The neighbours don’t mind because
I’m considerate. Light on the throttle it’s quiet enough not to wake everyone up at night

As for the OP just install a Dynomax , Magnaflow or Flowmaster muffler and call it good . On my 02 DC Pre Runner , I've got supercharged 3RZ 4cyl with a Doug's Tri Y merged header . It has a Magnaflow cat back exhaust and sounds nice . The muffler is showing signs of needing replacement so I'm going to put Flowmaster 2 chamber 40 series muffler on very soon

I decided not to get a loud exhaust for my Tacoma because of the loud tires. I also have a 98 Dodge Ram with a V8 that I want to get duals and headers for.

Make your truck sound how you want it to sound. Forget these punks who tell you what they want your truck to sound like. I don’t spend money on my truck to make other people happy.

i would prefer those people shooting guns at whatever in the late city nights to USE A Silencer on those firearms, some people are trying to sleep without the gunshots nonstop all night

Don’t waste money on exhaust tips, muffler delete will be the loudest and cheapest, small mufflers like a super 10 Or super 40 will change the tone and make it louder without being stupid annoying inside the cab and help prevent things from vibrating. Little more costly though

Settle down Tim, and stop complaining. this is a forum for car guys to customize their Toyotas. Literally, the first post you submitted on this topic, you’re already pissed off and advocating that this guy makes his truck more quiet when he was just asking for help.

What someone considers “nice” is completely subjective and it’s clear that you have your own opinions of what you don’t like.

Someone said they want to change something about their exhaust and you came out like the head of the HOA. My mom would agree with you, btw.

If your mission on this forum is bully people not to customize their vehicles the way that you would by degrading their ideas instead of helping them, then what good are you?

Your replies are the epitome of a toxic forum environment, not mine which advocate for Freedom to customize your own vehicle however you want to on a truck forum about customizing trucks.

Because, for the record, THAT is how fucking annoying it is to hear a loud exhaust. So annoying that one is physically unable to control the need to vent when presented with the topic on a truck forum.

Edit: used to not bother me until some asshat dating a girl in the neighborhood woke my small kids up at 11 PM something like 20 nights in a row until several of us tracked down the house he was visiting and, sleepless, threatened to bury him with his exhaust. Now the sound for a mere second makes me furious.

Look, Hook, I’m sure that’s a hyperbole. Threatening someone with murder? That’s pretty extreme. If it’s true then maybe seek out help. I’d really be an asshole if I read this and did not at the very least point you in the right direction...

    https://www.mentalhealth.gov/get-help

Seriously though. Internal combustion is awesome...am I right? Is this not a truck forum. I love me the sweet rumble of a well tuned loping monster. Makes me very happy. Sounds so mean, I could slap my momma. Too bad Toyota 6s and 4s aren’t that, but we do try though.

PS, if you’re not her daddy, stop paying attention to who’s dating what girls in your neighborhood.

edit: just say, “there was this guy driving really loudly down my street”

double edit: Are there people here that also don’t like to go fast either?

The fact of who he was dating was how my crew of pitchfork wielding sleep deprived zombies located the bastard.
