First off I would just like to say that I’m sure there is a similar thread out there that would answer my question and call me lazy but I just cannot find a solid answer to what I’m looking for anywhere.

I have a 2005 Tacoma with a 6” rough country lift on it (purchased with the lift) and absolutely hate how it handles off road (as expected). The kit includes a bracket drop for the front diff so the crossmember has already been cut so the diff could be dropped. My issue is I would like to upgrade the suspension to something better than what I have right now (stock struts with a spacer on top) as I’m sure you can imagine it isn’t really ideal for on or off-road use but I am pretty unclear on what I can do with this bracket drop in the front.

My plan is to bring the 6” lift down to 3” but with new UCAs and coil overs. I am basically wondering if I would need to remove the bracket drop and weld the original crossmember so that the geometry is back to stock and a more advanced suspension system can be installed or what other options I have with what is already installed.

    I mean… it’s a Ford, you don’t care
Won’t work unless you have your crossmember re-welded. Better off buying extended length shocks, ucas, leaf packs that will function with the 6” drop bracket

however if you had it repaired and brought back to stock, you could then upgrade accordingly
