TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

Hate to break it to you guys but those plugs went in when the supercharger was installed, and I did not install it. My guess is they realized their mistake and didn’t gap the rest of the plugs, but they made up for it by tightening the ever living hell out of them when installing.

 

They attempted to gap that one it seems like. I didn't get to watch the full video until now, but I can see why it would get bent like that. That plug was not bent due to getting dropped, it's because some funny guy decided to try and gap them using an incorrect gapping method. At least according to the video.

I got my giggles out of that thread for sure. "Spark plugs get dropped twice. Once on the floor and once in the trash."

 

Years ago I dropped a spark plug too. Didn’t take any chance with that shit. Ordered a new one. Thing was dropped on carpet and still bent like a post-it note flapping in the wind.

$8 > $new engine

 

anyone on here running a tundra intake?

 

it was too steep of a bend going down into the engine when I looked for me to try and work with. Not trying to discourage since a band saw and coupler, TIG, or plastic welder could easily clock that piece.

 

For anyone who wanted to see how the swivel setup works for removing the spark plugs I made a little video on it. The gopro messed up removal so I just kept the parts of me pointing out what you need to take off and also the removing of the spark plugs.

That was after a hose down lol, I do not want to think about how much effort it will take to clean it just for it to get filthy again.

When I checked my plugs before install they were all good right out of the package. Or I didn't know how to check them.

So I just got my Magnaflow swapped out (from my URD mark lll exhaust.) For those who want a quieter exhaust, you may want to highly consider the Stainless Works muffler I installed. I purchased it from @DocME so he’d have to tell you the exact model. I do know it is a turbo chambered style muffler that is much quieter than what I had. It’s night and day. Even when I get on it, it just puts out a nice quiet even hum with the whine of the supercharger taking precedence. At idle it’s a hair louder over stock....if that. Size wise it is a couple inches longer then the Magnaflow. 30” length.
